Ben Sivak, Manager of Planning with the Municipality of Kings, was recently approached by Glyn Bissix of Acadia University about Kings 2050. One of the classes Mr. Bissix teaches is called Investigating Sustainability, “anapplied and transdisciplinary research course focusing on information needs that inform and influence decision-making and practice in the environmental and sustainability fields.” For this course, Mr. Bissix wanted to use a real-life example for the students study and critique. Considering the work that is being done with the Municipality of Kings County regarding Kings 2050 this seemed like the perfect fit.
We are very excited about this project and value the opportunity to have the minds of Acadia students look at the plans under way and offer up their perspectives to the Kings 2050 process.
